New One NIHR Award Management System

Starting in November 2024, the NIHR streamlined its awards and fellowship management systems, replacing ARAMIS, REALMS, and RMS with a new integrated platform.

What does this mean for you? If you are planning to apply for an NIHR award, you will need to set up a new account, including a fresh login and password. We are assured, however, that any previous awards and fellowship will be migrated into the new system. If your application is already at Stage 1, you may be asked to use the new system for Stage 2 if you move forward.

Funding application forms are also getting a refresh! They will now only include information that panels need to make funding decisions. The Research Plan (Stage 1) and Detailed Research Plan (Stage 2) will follow a consistent structure across NIHR programmes. Applicants will only be asked to provide high-level costs — detailed budgets will only be required if proposals are accepted.

Helpful updates include linking CV information directly to ORCID ID profiles. Fellowship applicants will now be asked to submit a narrative CV, instead of the traditional researcher background section.
